How it works

How does Tomo work?

Tomo is a tool to help manage your mental health.  It’s based on Behavioural Activation (BA), a well established therapeutic technique that is a core part of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), used by psychiatrists and therapists to tackle depression and anxiety. BA helps people understand the relationship between their behaviour and their mental wellbeing, and how to use habits to improve their state of mind. Tomo helps you build habits to improve your wellbeing. It prompts you to create and keep up with your scheduled habits and gives you feedback about your achievements.

Each time you complete something, Tomo asks you to celebrate it with a photo.  That photo is shared anonymously with a select few. This works as a peer support system - where the community checks each other’s progress and shares the wins of the day. Sharing reinforces new habits and help keeps everyone motivated!

How does the Tomo community work?

Tomo shares your photo with a few members to ask if it matches your activity or habit. Tomo lets you know when it’s been reviewed and adds your checked activities to your achievement tracker! All sharing is anonymous and while members support each other, you can’t follow, comment, or message.
